As we are entering the winter months it is particularly important that you take any planned leave to ensure you benefit and enjoy the daylight hours available. With just over a month remaining in 2020, where possible, you are encouraged to take any remaining leave you may have by 31 December 2020.
Where relevant, you should ensure you use your leave entitlement to cover the Christmas closedown period. The 2021 leave entitlements will be uploaded onto MyView at the beginning of January and you should not book any leave for 2021 via MyView until this has been completed.
If you have continued to work during the pandemic and have been unable to take leave, following discussion with your Manager, you may be able to carry forward up to 4 weeks leave (i.e. 4 times your contracted hours), pro-rated for part time employees, into the next two leave years (to be taken by December 2022). This is in addition to the current maximum carry forward.
A further bulletin and associated FAQs on the authorisation process for carry forward of leave will be issued in the new year.
You may also wish to consider requesting to bank up to 5 days (equivalent of your contracted hours), pro-rated for part time employees, to take in accordance with the Banked Leave Scheme. Approved requests should be forwarded to [email protected] to be actioned prior to 31 December 2020.
